Your dog will be proficient in marking birds as well as running blind retrieves, both on land and water.
The Finished Gun Dog Program at Reaction Retrievers is exactly that. Your dog will be proficient in marking birds as well as running blind retrieves, both on land and water. Dogs will be steady to wing and shot under a variety of hunting scenarios such as boats, duck blinds, dog blinds, decoys etc.
Dogs will hold the bird firmly, yet gently, and will provide you with a clean delivery to the heel position. Dogs completing this program at Reaction Retrievers will have heard literally hundreds of shots and will have retrieved hundreds of birds while in training. Dogs will be exposed to pigeons, pheasants, hens and roosters, as well as mallard ducks.
At the completion of the dog’s training, owners, as well as any other person who may be handling the dog in the future, are required to learn how to utilize the dog’s new skillsets. You may also learn these skills during your dog’s training lessons. As the dog enters its final stages of training clients are encouraged to participate in the learning process as much as possible. This is a very important piece of the puzzle. At this point your dog has done its part. They now are very keen and love to retrieve. It is now time for you to learn and to enjoy your dog’s abilities.
It is highly recommended that you maintain a training program upon your dog’s departure from Reaction Retrievers. Whether it be the introduction to a retriever sport of some kind, with a group of your friends, or simply on your own, maintaining the use of your dog’s new skills keeps them sharp and gives the dog the daily exercise that is required while owning any dog. Keep in mind that we are only a phone call away if you encounter any hurdles during your training. We like to stay in touch with our clients and their dogs as we support their success.
The Finished Gun Dog Program at Reaction Retrievers is a seven month program that runs January to August.
Note; Reaction Retrievers believes in fair business practices. If we feel that any particular animal does not have what it takes to become a finished gun dog we will inform you of this within the first 45 days. Although this happens very rarely, we have no desire to mislead you in any way. At Reaction Retrievers we say it the way it is. That simple.
